Professor Kerimov is one of the prominent geoscientists. During 45 years of his long professional career he had been involved in studies concerning buried geologic settings of petroleum provinces in Azerbaijan and several fundamental developments in the field of petroleum geology and geophysics. Along with in-depth theoretical studies professor Kerimov is being engaged in studies forwarded to meet industry's demand, as a  resulted in a series of discoveries made through his commendations. Kerim Kerimov is quite fruitful in his endeavors focused on geodynamic conditions in Azerbaijan and throughout the whole Caucasus region. Professor Kerimov has authorized over 550 scientific papers, several books and inventories around his career. Some of which were published in many countries over the world including Russia, the USA, the United Kingdom, Japan, Turkey, Iran, etc. Currently his disciples and followers are engaged in the domestic petroleum industry, in CIS countries and far beyond. Professor Kerim Kerimov has been honored with several governmental awards. Moreover, he is a merited activist in the real sciences and engineering of Azerbaijan Republic. Along with his work as general director of Geophysics and Engineering Geology of SOCAR, professor Kerim Kerimov also holds the chair of President of the National Committee of Geophysicists of Azerbaijan (NCGA) and AzeriSEG. He is a mem ber of NCGA, the SEG and the AzeriSEG. American Biographical Institute named after him "Man of the Year" for 1998, awarded him with "The 2000 Millenium Medal of Honor" in recognition of his work in the field of geophysics. In 2000 Cambridge Biographical Institute honored him by the Silver medal-high rank Award 20 Century Award for Achievements. In 1983 the former Soviet Peace Defense Committee awarded him a proper Diplom. He organized several International Geophysical Conferences and Seminars and participated at the  various Conferences held in different countries worldwide. Professor Kerimov is known in our country and beyond not only as a geoscientist, but also as a social activist and fighter for the peace, independence and cooperation. Since 1956 he has published more than 4500 cartoons. The key topic of his recent cartoons is unmasking both armeniun aggressive policy and genoside executed against Azerbaijan people and their political provocation held against Turkey and Turk-speaking countries. Cartoons and political placards drawn by Kerim Kerimov has been demonstrated at 14 personal exhibitions which held in Baki, Moscow, St Petersburg, Ashgabad, Istanbul and in other cities.
